The Dummy Corporation

Dummy is a publication that covers the history of comics. Edited and published by writer and comics historian John Kelly, each issue of Dummy takes a deep dive into a topic and features extensive interviews with creators and rare examples of their art. Kelly has been a regular contributor to The Comics Journal for more than 30 years and is the former Executive Director of the ToonSeum, the Pittsburgh-based museum of comics and cartoon art. Dummy is governed by The Dummy Corporation, comprised of a Board of Advisors whose members include prominent cartoonists and historians, including Mark Newgarden, Michael Tisserand, Caitlin McGurk, Jerry Beck, Kaz and Shary Flenniken. The Dummy Corporation also sells authorized merchandise designed by many of the artists it covers, as well as limited prints and small run publications.
